    According to a press release from Clovis Municipal Schools "Secure and Move" at Gattis and Yucca Middle Schools has been lifted. At approximately 2:45 p.m. Gattis and Yucca Middle Schools were placed in ‘Secure and Move’ due to a threat made referencing the two schools . Dismissal is being conducted.     The boil water advisory for Portales water system customers has been lifted according to City Manager Sarah Austin. The Portales water system was shut down early Thursday morning after a major water main break in the vicinity of Bryan Street. Portales Public Works Department personnel with help from ENMU's maintenance department had the break repaired and the system operating by 3 a.m. Friday. City officials issued a boil water advisory as a precaution when the system was up and running but Austin reports as of about 5 p.m....

    The man who killed Jahmal Burge in the kitchen of a Clovis home has been sentenced to 19 years in prison. Johnny Rae Vigil, 29, pleaded "no contest" to the second-degree murder of Burge in a plea agreement.     PORTALES -- Water service has been restored in Portales according to city officials. With the water back on a boil water advisory is in effect until further notice for water customers.     A vehicle crash early Wednesday morning resulted in the death of a Cannon Air Force Base airman, officials said. The Curry County Sheriff's Department reported in a news release that deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash west of Clovis on US 60/84 about 4:40 a.m. Shaun McNair, 20, of Cheyenne, Wyo., was killed when his 2014 BMW left the roadway, collided with a tree, and overturned, the release stated.     A Hobbs man is accused of using his former employer's gas card to rack up more than $1.2 million in gasoline charges over several years since leaving the company.     The county clerks of Curry and Roosevelt counties have released details of their county’s 2022 general election unofficial early and absentee turnout as of Monday. Curry County Clerk Annie Hogland reports 2210 early voting ballots have been cast as of the close of business Friday. 1621 of those votes were cast at the Curry County administrative complex, 587 at the voting location at the North Plains Mall.
