One of the items set for the chop was its popular halloumi sticks, which fans have been calling to be made a permanent menu fixture.

Five simple ways to save cash at Lidl

The snacks come in a pack of four cheese sticks coated in a light batter, served with a rich tomato dip.

They have made a return to Macciesmenus for the past three years in a rowand prove popular every time they come back.

However, for now, the item is no longer on the menu, but perhaps lovers of the tasty cheesy snack might want to get themselves down to Aldi.

You can find your nearest supermarket by using the store locator tool on its website.

However, remember that new Aldi tends to sell out quickly especially if they have created a buzz on social media, so you might want to be quick.

It is always good to shop around and we used the Trolley.co.uk comparison website to see what other retailers are offering.

Tesco has a pack of 10 halloumi style fries for £3 and Sainsbury's also has a pack of 12 for £3.25.

Asda also has its version of breaded halloumi fries which retails for £2.50, so at the time we checked Aldi is the cheapest place to buy at the moment.

Just recently Aldi shoppers have been going wild over another new product launched just in time for summer.

Fans of rose wine have been rushing to get their hands on a dupe of Whispering Angel, which is £15 cheaper and tastes "gorgeous".

Wine buffs were soon taking to social media to comment on the new wine.

One person said: “This is my absolute favourite!!!”

Another added: “This is a gorgeous wine.”

When is the best time to shop at Aldi?

WHEN it comes to shopping at Aldi, the best time to do so depends on what you want to buy.

For reduced items - when shops open

Red sticker items are rare at Aldi's 830 UK stores, but the supermarket says that none of its food goes to waste so there are some to be found - if you're quick.

A spokesman for the supermarket said: "All items are reduced to 50% of the recommended sales price before stores open based on their best before or use by dates."

That means you have the best chance of finding reduced food items if you go into stores as soon as it opens.

Opening times vary by shop but a majority open from 7am or 8am. You can find your nearest store's times by using the supermarket'sonline shop finder tool.

For Specialbuys - Thursdays and Sundays

Specialbuys are Aldi's weekly collection of items that it doesn't normally sell, which can range from pizza ovens to power tools.

New stock comes into stores every Thursday and Sunday, so naturally, these are the best days to visit for the best one-off special deals.

For an even better chance of bagging the best items, head there for your local store's opening time.

You don't have to head into stores to bag a Specialbuy, though.

They also go on sale online, usually at midnight on Thursday and Sunday, andyou can pre-order them up to a week in advance.

As long as you spend at least £25, you'll get the items delivered for free.

Remember: once they're gone, they're gone, so if there's something you really want, visit as early as possible

Meanwhile, sweet-toothed shoppers have been going wild for a new delicious dupe that they claim is even better than Cadbury's.

Costing just £1.39, the chocolate bar appears to be modelled on Cadbury's Dairy Milk Marvellous Creations treat - but it's 60p cheaper.

Marvellous Creations is a beloved bar brimming with popping candy and jelly sweets.

CuriousInventionsis made by Aldi's own Dairyfine.

As well as being the same weight as the Cadbury version at 160g, it also has the same sweet surprises hidden inside the milk chocolate.

OneFacebookUser took to the platform to rave about the dupe.

They posted a picture of Aldi's remake and wrote: "I didn't think I would ever say this but it's better thanCadbury."

"It really is good chocolate," wrote one, while another said: "Need to try this."

It is not just food dupes from Aldi that have shoppers in a frenzy. beauty fans can also pick up a bargain on dupes of their favourite brands.
