How much does it cost to go to the Milwaukee County Zoo? ›

Hours – The zoo is open year-round, but the hours vary by season. The animals have an early bedtime, so the zoo closes year-round by 5 pm or earlier. Admission & Parking – Rates for children and adults vary with the seasons and range from $11.25-$16.75. Children 2 and under are always free!

The Zoo allows guests to bring in their own food and non-alcoholic drinks.

Family Free Days: Each year, the Zoo offers six Family Free Days in which all visitors receive free admission to the Zoo.

How long does it take to see the zoo? With 190 acres of land and over 2,200 animals, it's easy to make an entire day out of a visit to the Milwaukee Zoo. If you're not trying to see every exhibit or experience every attraction, two to three hours should give you enough time to see your favorite animals.

Parking at the zoo costs $15 per car and can be purchased online or at the zoo's entrance. The zoo's main entrance and walk-in entrance are open year-round. The zoo's west entrance is open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, and is used to expedite entry for Zoo Pass members and those who buy tickets ahead of time.

Giraffe feeding time is a tall task! This unique experience allows you to get eye-to-eye with the tallest animals at the Zoo. Opportunities are subject to animals' appetite, weather, special events, and construction.

Can I bring in my own stroller/wheelchair? Yes, you can bring your own. Strollers, wagons, wheelchairs, and mobility scooters are also available to rent (cashless transactions ONLY).

What is Milwaukee Zoo known for? ›

The zoo is noted for the second birth of polar bears and siamangs in captivity and for their locally famous gorilla Samson, who lived from 1950 to 1981 and whose bones are now on display at the Milwaukee Public Museum. During World War II, a celebrity animal of the zoo was Gertie the Duck and her ducklings.

It really depends on you. If you were to see everything at a fast pace, it would take about 1-1/2 hours.
