How to use StatCounter? ›

StatCounter is a really great alternative for Google Analytics. It has very intuitive interface and a lot features such as Keyword Analysis or single visitor tagging. We highly recommend it to anyone. Very satisfied on how this StatCounter helps me monitor my website.

StatCounter, a free online visitor statistics tool, was founded in 1999 by Aodhan Cullen, an Irish web designer. To get a page tracked, you have to fill out a simple set of questions, copy code and paste it into an HTML file.

StatCounter measures internet usage trends. We track which browsers are actually used most. To accurately measure browser usage, we base our stats on page views (and not unique visitors). This means we take account of how frequently browsers are used and we also track multi-browser usage by individuals.

All our stats are available free of charge (many others charge for the data).

The StatCounter tracking code is what's used to collect stats on your visitors. It must be on any page you want tracked. It can run on any site which allows you to use HTML or Javascript code.

Please double check your web site to make sure our code is still installed. The most common cause of this problem is that the StatCounter code has been accidentally removed or altered. For safeties sake you can try removing *all* of the old StatCounter code and re-installing a fresh copy of the code.

In the Pages widget, select the Entry tab and then View Report. Bounce rates vary by industry but as a general guide, a bounce rate of under 25% is excellent, between 26% and 45% is good but may need attention and over 45% definitely needs improvement.
